The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaya was formed (during this period Singapore was considered to be part of Malaya)
 

1958:

The Singapore 4As was officially registered as the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore.
 


Early '70s:


Together with the Singapore Advertisers Association (SAA) and Advertising Media Owners Association of Singapore (AMOAS), formed the Joint Education Council.

 

 


started the adverting trade journal, "Advoice", with SAA and AMOAS

 


1976:


Assisted in the creation of the Singapore Code of Advertising Practice

 


1980:


Co-hosted the prestigious 12th Asian Advertising Congress

 

 


Became an active member of the Advisory Council of the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS)

 

 


the inaugural Singapore Creative Circle Awards was launched

 


1984:


Jointly incorporated Media Circulation Services (MCS) with the AMOAS and SAA. MCS was renamed the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) in December 2006.

 


1990:


The three associations - 4As, SAA and AMOAS set up the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS).

 


1996:


Initiated the Bankers Guarantee (BG) Substitution Scheme for members to help them increase their financial leverage by releasing collateral tied up with BG.

 


1997:


The 4As full-time Secretariat was formed

 

 


The Ad-Ucation council was formed to create a channel for dialogue between the industry and various tertiary institutions

 


1998:


Collaborated as an industry partner in a National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) initiative campaign known as "The Partnership for a Drug-Free Singapore". This partnership, a first in Asia, follows a similar model in USA where the communication industry contributes their free time and discounted media space to the anti-drug cause

 


2001:


Launched the Students Creative Awards(better known as the
 Crowbar Awards) to foster creativity among students

 

 


Celebrated with the industry, the winning of over 100 major international awards by 4As members

 


2005:


Celebrated the 25th year of the annual
 Singapore Creative Circle Awards, affectionately known as The Gong Show

 

 


Co-hosted the 24th
 AdAsia (Asian Advertising Congress) together with three other industry associations - SAA, AMOAS and ABS ( Association of broadcasters Singapore)

 

 


Launched the inaugural
 Singapore Media Awards (SMA)

 


2006:


Launched the inaugural Creative Advisory Panel

 


2007:


Joined forces with other associations around Asia to form the Confederation of Asian Advertising Associations (C4A) that will be registered in Singapore.

 

 


Launched the Crowbar Seminar and Creative Exhibition

 


2012:


Launched new website www.admarcom.sg

 

 


Participated a
nd showcased DesignS exhibits as a part of Singaplural

 


2013:


Launched Nexgen as an extension of Singapore Creative Circle Awards
